If you’re looking for a vibrant community close to Orlando, check out Winter Park homes. The community was originally founded as a resort town in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Today Park Avenue is the center of historic downtown Winter Park real estate. It’s a great place to go for unique shops and dining. On Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., residents head to the farmers market to get delicious produce and meet friends and neighbors. Central Park is a great place to enjoy some peace and quiet, with its huge, shady oak trees, comfortable benches, fountains, and fragrant rose garden. The park is also the site of several of the city’s signature events, including the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival, Winter Park Autumn Art Festival, and the Olde Fashioned 4th of July Celebration. Winter Park Real Estate Owners Love Their Great Public Schools People living in Winter Park homes have many other opportunities to enjoy the arts. The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art has a large collection of the work of Louis Comfort Tiffany. The Cornell Fine Arts Museum is considered to have one of the best collections in Florida, from Renaissance masterpieces to contemporary works. Education is an important part of life in Winter Park. Rollins College is a well-established liberal arts college. US News and World Report ranked it as the #2 regional college in the South. The local public schools are all very good, too. Winter Park High School earned the College Success Award in 2018 and 2019. There are also several excellent private schools in the city. In addition to the many attractions of Winter Park, it’s a good place to find a job. The publishing company Bonnier Corporation and Adventist Health System are both based in the city. Orlando is about seven miles to the south and is within a 15 to 20 minute drive.
